Good Morning, we continue on our journey, aka the 2nd part in a multi-part article. (which are my thoughts, and Do not reflect anyone else’s or HTB) (Please Read the first part)

We continue on the chase of Christi van der Westhuizen who is associate professor of Sociology at the University of Pretoria.
So this part will focus in on who she is associated with, ie Democracy Works Foundation.

its Objective are as followed straight from their website.

Democracy is always a work-in-progress – it is a dynamic governing system and a method at the same time. Democracy Works Foundation will strive to promote wider civic engagement to nurture this dynamism, and to contribute to the realisation of the core governing principles enshrined in the preamble of the South African constitution.

For example, Democracy Works will facilitate activities that are impartial in relation to political formations. That said, DW is partial in the choice for wanting democracy to work and to deliver more effectively and efficiently.

The negotiation process for South Africa’s democratic constitution, promulgated in 1996, was an inclusive and authentic South African process. While taking lessons from existing democracies across the world, no outside interference was allowed. South Africans chose to do it their own way, and completed the constitution writing process successfully.

Democracy Works seeks to build on this tradition, and recognises that democracy has to develop from within – through inclusive processes – in order to be sustainable.

Beyond the borders of South Africa (because Democracy Works recognises that democracy does not develop in isolation) experiences from elsewhere can inform the ongoing debate about our own choices for improving our democratic performance. At the same time, the debate about democratic development has been dominated by experiences in the Northern hemisphere.

Democracy Works aspires to contribute in raising the voices of the South in international platforms, in which experience and lessons on democracy are shared. These experiences will be drawn upon to invest in building stronger South-to-South platforms to link the deepening of democracy with building more equal and just societies.

The above is a bunch of sugar coated bullshit, the first Democracy was Athenian model which was isolated, at that point in time.

I will firstly start with who is funding them monies (as when we follow this we start to understand the nature of the famous speech of George H. W. Bush Sr. when he used the phase “Thousand Points of Light”)

I hope after watching the above, you actually understand what the “Thousand Points of Light” is actually about.

Cause it’s as plain as day: A thousand different NGO’s, NPC’s, & Foundation’s, all moving in the same direction, each not realising they have a shared commonality, all marching from a different angle to a centre point.

Now let’s us turn our attention towards Democracy Works Foundation & their Funders/Partners.

Firstly i will start with my favourite item & work my back from the bottom to the top of the list,

So my Favourite item is that of George Soro’s Open Society Foundation for South Africa (OSF-SA) who’s monies play a major part of controlling the South Africa Narrative. (I will show you more on this in a up coming article)

Open Society Foundation for South Africa (OSF-SA) Grantees 2017 (Info taken from OSF-SA 2017 Annual Report)

Democracy Works Foundation over a 12 month span received R793 500 in the year of our Lord 2017 from OSF-SA.

Accountability Lab

Their Values are as followed:

unnamed (16)Integrity: We set an example for honesty and transparency and we are directly accountable to all our stakeholders.

unnamed (15)Innovation:
We foster creativity in every possible way. We are always open to new ideas; we acknowledge and learn from our failures; and we adapt to changing circumstances.

unnamed (14)Humility:
We begin by listening, ensure we build trust over time and know that local problems require local solutions.

unnamed (17)Practicality:
We emphasize useful tools that are sustainable and scalable over time. We ensure cost-effectiveness and make every dollar go as far as it can.

We strive to collaborate wherever possible. We believe in the power of community, and are building an eco-system for accountability around the world.

I nearly was brought to tears well reading this dribble, sweet tasting to one’s eye’s and ear’s but bitter to the taste. So let us now have a look at their Strategy:

Our vision is a world in which people with power are accountable. It is a world in which resources are used wisely, decisions benefit everyone fairly, and people lead secure lives. We are catalyzing a new generation of active citizens and responsible leaders around the world by supporting change-makers to develop and implement positive ideas for integrity in their communities. By enabling people to generate the knowledge, skills and networks needed for accountability, we unleash positive social and economic change.

We have three mutually-reinforcing objectives: to support a positive movement to build accountability; provide substantive, flexible and long-term support for those leaders who can collectively lead this movement within specific contexts; and support collaboration around accountability and open governance. <<‘Code Word’ wink wink. anything in Italics pay attention to everything in Bold & Italics, understand the game at work here and the code words used by theses internationalist (wink wink).

United States Agency for International Development

What they are about

USAID is the world’s premier international development agency and a catalytic actor driving development results. USAID’s work advances U.S. national security and economic prosperity, demonstrates American generosity, and promotes a path to recipient self-reliance and resilience. The purpose of foreign aid should be ending the need for its existence, and we provide development assistance to help partner countries on their own development journey to self-reliance – looking at ways to help lift lives, build communities, and establish self-sufficiency.

Our efforts are both from and for the American people.

USAID demonstrates America’s good will around the world; increases global stability by addressing the root causes of violence; opens new markets and generates opportunity for trade; creates innovative solutions for once unsolvable development challenges; saves lives; and advances democracy, governance, and peace.

What they are about
It’s basically a museum.

Tucked away in the leafy suburb of Rivonia, Johannesburg is Liliesleaf. Once the nerve centre of the liberation movement and a place of refuge for its leaders, today Liliesleaf is one of South Africa’s foremost, award-winning heritage sites, where the journey to democracy in South Africa is honoured.

Recognised as one of South Africa’s leading heritage sites, Liliesleaf opened to the public in June 2008 and has since attracted thousands of local and international visitors, eager to understand and engage with a pivotal period in South Africa’s liberation struggle. The museum pays testimony to the many lives that changed the political landscape of this country and through its educational programmes, appeals to younger audiences to face today’s challenges with creative enthusiasm.

Below is a Trust search, as one can see nothing, unless LILIESLEAF REALISATION is it, which am doubting.

Also did a Company search, and nothing. so one technically needs to go there and buy a ticket, and see what’s written on the receipt.

Each of our four Directors now has more than 20 years of experience in conflict resolution, democracy building, and political transition.
