BLOEMFONTEIN 09:30 reports of Taxi unrest was expected. By 13:00 Traffic in the city center of Bloemfontein has come to a halt after eleven taxi associations of Welkom have blocked the road ahead of the Police, Roads and Transport Department. The taxi operators say they are dissatisfied with taxis illegally operating on routes in Odendaalsrus and Welkom. The chairman of the Lejweleputswa taxi council, Moeketsi Majoe, said they tried to bring the issue to the attention of the department over the past two years, but without success. He says the registrar of the department should be removed from his post because he does not carry the industry’s interests at heart and causes conflict.

BRITS 07:30 March expected at 09H00 from Brits bus station to the Madibeng Local Municipality. By 09:45 Protesters gathering at the Damonsville intersection. Reports at 14:55 the sitution returned to calm and back to normal. The protesters left with their respective buses from the village.
Reports at 18:00 Several business enterprises as well as the Madibeng local municipality’s offices in Brits in North West have been closed. Raging protesters tried to plunder foreigners business enterprises. The protesters demand clean running water and demand that the mayor resign. The police used rubber bullets to control the situation. One person has been arrested for public violence. Two vehicles have now been landed in the Letlhabile township. The police monitor the situation.

CAPE TOWN 07:00 Unrest reported in Bishop Lavis – residents are calling for ancalling for an end to crime and gang violence by 07:30 Community members where calling for a shutdown expected on October 3 2018.
At 10:00 Police in Cape Town monitor the situation in the vicinity of Bishop Lavis where residents of this neighbourhood and Elsies River argue. Valhalla road between Myrtle and Ovenweg is closed for traffic. According to a spokesperson for the Cape Town metro council, Richard Coleman, the protesters agreed to argue against the high incidence of crime in the area. Coleman advised motorists to avoid Francie van Zyl-Halt and Norwood Road, among others.
